In-silico Drug Discovery

In-silico Drug Discovery: We are addressing this space through a parallel drug discovery software suite, along with underlying HPC.

Motif Discovery

A fraction of the genome across species is conserved over millions of years. Identifying these conserved regions (motifs) is computationally challenging. We are developing a parallel motif discovery software suite with application to gene regulation, evolutionary biology and DNA looping.

Sequence Alignment

Data base search is the key to successful bioinformatics. We have parallelized existing standalone implementations of:

i. Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) from NCBI

ii. Smith Waterman from FASTA

Neurosimulation

We have parallelized an existing standalone neurosimulator called MOOSE. Our contribution is available as a Beta release on the MOOSE site (http://moose.sourceforge.net).
