Computational Research
Laboratories Limited (CRL) is a wholly owned
subsidiary of Tata Sons Limited (a group holding
company). CRL has been specially set up to achieve
global leadership in the field of High Performance
Computing (HPC). Traditionally, scientific and
engineering R&D has always used two pillars of
theory and experiments. With the availability of
powerful microprocessors, a new dimension has been
added - simulations. With globalization of markets
and the resulting intense competition, there is a
tremendous pressure on corporations and institutions
to reduce development costs and shrink development
life cycles. HPC has been used in basic sciences and
various industry segments such as aerospace,
automotive, chemical, nuclear and material science,
to provide assistance in product design and process
optimization.
